Law Enforcement Officers, Agencies And Individuals To Be Recognized For Impaired Driving Enforcement and Highway Safety Efforts

FRANKFORT, KY-The impaired driving enforcement efforts of 185 officers and 170 law enforcement agencies from throughout the state will be recognized at a special awards ceremony scheduled for 10:00 A.M. (EST) on Thursday, Dec. 16 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Lexington.
 
Kentucky Justice Cabinet Deputy Secretary Cleve Gambill, Kentucky State Police Commissioner Mark Miller and Ms. Connie Beasley, Regional Program Manager, National Highway Transportation Safety Administration in Atlanta, will present the awards.

Three other awards will also be presented. Ms. Angela Leigh, executive director of Mothers Against Drunk Driving Kentucky, will present an award to the officer making the most impaired driving arrests between Oct. 1, 2003 and Sept. 30, 2004.  Mr. Jose Sepulveda and Mr. Tony Young, of the Federal Highway Administration, will present the two FHWA Awards for Excellence in Highway Safety.
